{my wedding} shoe details

I loved my shoes!!  I originally wanted to either get shoes that were drenched in rhinestones or ones that were green, but once I found these little guys for a mere $24, I couldn't resist!!  They matched my dress perfectly and were so classy.  Plus they had rhinestones on them which added that touch of pageantry glam that I wanted!

I tried to find Joshua some socks that had green polka dots or green and white stripes on them.  I failed miserably at that and opted to do solid color socks.  The company I used, {We Love Color}, did not have a green color that was close to the ferny-pea-pod-lima-bean color that the dresses were so I opted to get him white and yellow socks and gave him the option of which pair to wear (I was a nice bride right? I gave my groom an option on something he had to wear!  Ha ha!  Just kidding!  He actually had a lot of input for the wedding!).  He opted to not go for the Michael Jackson look and chose the yellow socks.  I loved the pop of color that the socks gave.  It was just an extra little touch of detail that came as a little surprise for everyone that noticed them.

I ended up ordering all of the groomsmen matching yellow socks and my bridesmaids and matrons of honor wore taupe heels that killed their feet were to die for!!

My bridesmaids and matrons of honor were quite the little troopers!!  The only shoes that I could find that would match the dresses they wore were these lovely taupe heels.  These heels looked great on all of them, but I know their feet were killing them!!  They were 4 inches tall with a 1/4 inch platform.  Like I said, they were troopers!  My great awesome maids wore these bad boys during our picture times (4 hours) and ceremony (1 hour).  The shoes disappeared off of their feet at the reception and I don't blame them - mine did the same!  :)

I ended up making, what I like to call, toe petals for their shoes.  I felt like they were to plain without anything on them and I wanted to bring in the green of their dress on their shoes.  I ordered extra fabric from the dress manufacturer and made the toe petals.  I am going to write up a tutorial very soon about these so you can make your own!  When I added them to the shoes, I sewed them on so my girls could remove them later if they chose to wear their shoes again with another outfit that did not require the green toe petals.

I loved seeing all of the groomsmen with their bright yellow socks.  It added that pop of color that they needed to their smashing black Calvin Klein suits.  I love this photo!!

Here are all of my girls with their beautiful bouquets!  The shoes are just precious!!!
