kitchen chairs

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, then you already know that I am on the hunt for the perfect kitchen chairs for the farm table that was given to me from an awesome church member.  It just so happens that my mom owns the exact same set and is in need of a few more chairs for her table, so I am giving her all four that came with ours because they just quite aren't my style.  Here is what the table looks like:

The table itself is pretty beat up and scratched on the top, but all it needs is a little TLC and it'll be back to its former glory.  I am planning on sanding the entire thing down and restaining it a walnut color.  I originally wanted to paint the entire thing black, but there is already so much darkness in the kitchen as it is with all of the cabinets.  Side note: I have completely unpacked my kitchen and I have three empty cabinets.  There's no such thing as too much cabinet space and I am sure I will be able to fill it at some point.  :)  Anyway, now that I will have no chairs as of this afternoon, I am on the hunt for the perfect chairs.

I was starting to look at chairs like these:

All the while, I think any of those would be great, especially the Parsons Chair because there are so many different cover choices that are out there.  However, it really isn't the look that I am wanting to achieve.  So, I started looking through photos of styled homes who had farm tables for inspiration and this is what I came up with:

I love love love all of these options and have found some replica pieces from each photo.  Here are my favorites that I found:

After all of this research, I came to the conclusion that I want to get something like the Remy Side Chair.  It achieves the look that I am going after and I really like the contrast between the wooden table and metal chairs.  I also think having the white chairs will help brighten the room even more.  I did find some alternatives to the Remy that are a bit more bank account friendly, which to me is always better, especially with the holidays right around the corner (who's excited?!).  So, here are the chairs that I will be getting:

    1. I just went back to check on that chair because I have been teetering between the Remy and that one for about a week and it is nowhere to be found! I even called one of the West Elm stores and the associate told me that it was discontinued a couple of days ago. :(
